This production, directed by Patricia Logue, uses a stark contrast between overtly theatrical and playfully naturalistic elements to support the script, which is a deconstructed adaptation of Chekhov’s The Seagull. To match Aaron Posner’s self-aware analysis of Chekhov’s text, the design analyses the relationship between what is real and what is understood to be real via the suspension of disbelief. Costume design by Nikita Verboon, lighting design by Rocky Hood.
